Telangana has decided to introduce free MRI services in government hospitals under a public-private partnership model. The gap is large: in September, the state told its Legislative Council that it runs nine government MRI machines for a population of nearly 3.9 crore, and that 29 of its 33 districts have none.
What it means for private diagnostic centres and hospitals: free scans in government hospitals will change how some patients shop for imaging, especially for routine and non-urgent scans. Private centres will compete less on price and more on what government queues can’t offer: same-day slots, clear reporting times, convenient locations and a good experience. Those are exactly the things to show clearly on your Google profile and website.
